Alan Woo and Davis Ngo share a lifelong passion for food. From childhood, they explored flavors near and far—tasting everything from humble street food to fine dining experiences across the world. Their love for bold, authentic flavors and accessible, high-quality meals eventually led them to a dream of their own: opening a place where they could share that passion with others.
Davis grew up immersed in the art of bánh mì, spending nearly three decades working alongside his family in their Chinatown sandwich shop. Steeped in tradition and armed with generations of culinary knowledge, he sought to carve his own path while honoring the recipes and techniques passed down to him.
Alan’s journey to the kitchen was less conventional—a creative soul with a background in photography, he found himself increasingly drawn to the culinary world. What began as curiosity turned into a deep appreciation for food as an art form—one that brings people together, tells a story, and evokes memories.
Together, these two unlikely partners set out to create something special: a sandwich shop that not only serves the best bánh mì in New York City but also celebrates the heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation behind each bite.
